BIT Group (formerly Bluescreen IT)

BluescreenIT was founded in 2004 as an IT Security Consultancy and IT and Cyber Security Training company supporting industry, local authorities, MoD and governmental IT departments strategise, train and implement affordable training and security measures to support their growing IT estates.

In 2004, we moved our head office to Plymouth in support of our expanding cyber consultancy and training customer base in the South West. Our Devon location has grown and become a unique setting for our training customers looking to get away to dedicate themselves to their study.

BIT Training provides leading commercial IT and Cyber Security training for many of today’s leading industry vendors qualification by our in-house training team and through our network of learning partners to provide cost effective training solutions for our customers. As part of our training division, we are still immensely proud of our 16 years in delivering ELCAS Resettlement vendor funded training programmes to support UK MoD personnel transition into commercial operations.

BIT Security was created to bring to the market affordable Managed Security Services through the creation of the UK’s first Community Security Operation Centre (SOC). Launched in 2016 as a Pop up SOC to test demand, our centre has grown to provide a leading range of IT security services to support local businesses and organisations defend their IT estates. Using market leading technology combined with fully trained analysts, our tailor-made services support the most demanding budgets. In 2019, our Cyber Security Centre won the WMN Apprenticeship Development Award and was shortlisted for South West Tech Awards for our Commitment to Diversity for our positive stance to recruit individuals from hard to reach and diverse backgrounds including neuro diverse, ex hackers and MoD service leavers as part of our cyber apprenticeship programmes we run.

BIT Education Academy ISTEPS programme was developed to support the learning needs of hard to reach individuals in local communities. Our team specifically work alongside local schools and initiatives in the Plymouth catchment area to create programmes designed to support the individual to maximise their learning in IT and Cyber Security.  As part of our Education Academy, BluescreenIT developed National HACKED programme to focus on supporting young people who are developing cyber skills which are of immense value in the business world in their own bedrooms, but do not understand how to transform these self-taught skills into a career. BluescreenIT often encounter people who are being drawn into questionable activity online, because teachers, parents, case workers etc. don’t recognise the signs of hacker activity or do not understand the risks linked to what they are doing. The programme provides positive pathways for these individuals and works closely with the regional organised cybercrime units.
