Qualification
Attendees who successfully complete this 4.5-day course will be awarded the ISO22301 Certified BCMS Lead Auditor (CBC LA) qualification, which is certificated to ISO 17024, and issued by the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications (IBITGQ). The course includes an exam at the end of the last day.

What will you learn?
The ISO22301 Certified BCMS Lead Auditor training course is delivered over 4.5 days and consists of two modules:

Module 1 – Common core audit requirements based on ISO 19011 (2-day duration)
This module is built around the guidance and advice published in the ISO 19011 standard.

This includes audit preparation, managing an audit team, determining compliance with the Standard, interview techniques, following audit trails and documenting evidence.

Module 2 – Auditing a BCMS to meet the requirements of ISO 22301 (2.5 day duration)
This module covers the specific knowledge and skills required to audit against the ISO 22301 standard.

It also includes the IBITGQ Certified BCMS Lead Auditor (CBC LA) examination (90 minutes).

Over the two modules you will learn:

• The generic audit process according to ISO 19011 and ISO 17021;
• The BCMS audit process and the requirements of ISO 22031;
• Key ISO 22301 terms and definitions;
• Considerations for planning, conducting, reporting and following up on an ISO 22301 audit;
• Active listening techniques;
• Identifying and reporting on nonconformities;
• The process approach and PDCA cycle; and
• How to select and lead an ISO 22301 audit team.

Please note that all IBITGQ exams are now online exams, so you will need to bring a ‘pop-up enabled’ laptop/tablet to the venue.

Entry requirements
Although there are no formal entry requirements, we assume attendees will have a basic knowledge of either ISO 22301 or business continuity management/planning. This knowledge could have been gained through practical experience, reading, or by attending our ISO22301 Certified BCMS Foundation Training Course and/or ISO22301 Certified BCMS Lead Implementer Training Course.

This course is designed for professionals who wish to develop a career in auditing BCMSs, or in ensuring best practice in the application of business continuity controls.

It provides the essential audit qualification for anyone tasked with planning, managing and/or carrying out audits of conformance to ISO 22301:2012. The course would also benefit external consultants seeking to support the auditing activity of a business continuity planning system within client organisations.

The ISO 22301 standard
We recommend that delegates have copies of the most recent version of the ISO 22301 standard with them during the course.

ISO22301 Certified BCMS Lead Auditor (CBC LA) examination

This course prepares attendees for an examination sat on the last day. Successful candidates will be awarded the ISO22301 Certified BCMS Lead Auditor (CBC LA) qualification issued by IBITGQ.

The exam fee is included in the package price and the course is designed to maximise your chance of passing the exam.

MOD Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELCAS)
IT Governance is an Approved Learning Provider for the MOD ELCAS scheme.

We are uniquely positioned to provide currently serving and planned service leaver personnel in the MOD with the knowledge and the proficiency to effectively implement IT governance, information security and BCMSs.

This course fully qualifies for ELCAS funding and awards a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (England and Wales).

Exam results and certificates
Where exams are taken online (either remotely or by computer in the classroom), provisional exam results will be available immediately on completion of the exam. Confirmed exam results will be issued within 10 working days from the date of the exam.
Certificates for those who have achieved a passing grade will be issued within 10 working days from the date of the exam.
Results notifications and certificates are sent directly to candidates by the relevant exam board in electronic format; please note that hard copy exam certificates are not issued.
